This month we see the welcome return of our Pudding Club! Bring along a pudding to share (that does NOT need reheating or further cooking) with others. Examples could be profiteroles, cheesecake, pavlova, swiss roll, trifle, a pie, a tart.
At break time, come and sample the pudding(s) that take your fancy, and vote for your favourite using a 1p coin. All proceeds will go to the ACWW Pennies for Friendship campaign.
What is The Sadie Jones Challenge Cup?
Each month the Belles are set a challenge which is usually judged by our guest that night. The top three Belles get awarded points: first place gets 3 points, second place gets 2 points and third place gets 1 point. At the AGM (April), the member with the most points gets awarded our Sadie Jones Challenge Cup.
Who is Sadie Jones?
Our cup is named after our dear friend and fellow Belle, Sadie Jones, who sadly lost her fight against cancer. It is our way of commemorating her and remembering how she really embodied the spirit of a Belle by enjoying a wide range of our groups as well as participating fully in the monthly meetings, and also through the large group of friends she made. Sadie is sorely missed.
What do I have to do?
We try and keep the challenges varied and therefore accessible to all regardless of abilities! For example, this last year we have had ‘What The Dicken’s?!’ which was the best random item from home, Best Biscuits and Best Pet Photograph!
Who is the current holder?
Our current cup holder is Breda Bower, who snatched victory in the final month with a fabulous trifle to celebrate H.M. The Queen’s 90th birthday.
