TBBWI – November 2024 Meeting Minutes

Record of the Main Meeting held at South Weald Parish Hall at 8pm on 20th November, 2024.

Mocktails with Misha from Ginny’s Cocktail Lounge, Maldon

The President welcomed 72 members to the meeting. Notices were given including
information about a trip to a carol concert at The Royal Albert Hall for which a few places
remained.

The President then introduced Misha, the owner of Ginny’s Cocktail lounge in
Maldon, who spoke a little about her business and the growing demand for non- alcoholic
drinks. She explained how, at her bar, mocktails are served in elegant glassware and are
decorated in the same way as alcoholic drinks so visibly there is no difference. Misha went
through some of the traditional flavourings used to garnish cocktails and explained about the
wide range of non -alcoholic options to replace traditional drinks that are now available.
Members were then treated to a non-alcoholic Kir Royale drink mixed by Misha. These
mocktails were enjoyed as members socialised for the remainder of the evening. Misha
promised to share some of her mocktail recipes with members and an email would follow.

The challenge cup this evening was to name a WI themed mocktail and the winners were
judged by Misha as follows:
1 st Place – Debbie N, 4 points 2 nd Liz S.– 3 points and 3 rd – Rosa – 2 points.

Members were given advance notice of our Victorian Themed Christmas Party next month
so that there is adequate time to find an appropriate costume should anyone wish to dress
up.

The president thanked our guest speaker, and the meeting closed at 9.45pm.
